Day 8

OMG! major blonde moment today regarding Ravens and The Tower of London. Lol, I seem to be having more and more of these moments, think I am definitely gonna change my name to Bridget!! Good job I have the ability to laugh at myself.

Anyway, had my hair cut and its fine, nothing to stress myself about, just a shorter version of what it was, not very daring!!

Had a nice day today albeit busy. Had my friends 3 kids round today to play, so 5 in total, I just can’t believe how much they can eat! But at 4 o’clock I shot off to Monks Cross for a valuable hour with  bezz, very nice :)

When I got back I heard a commotion in the street and there was this guy having a go an my female next door neighbour about a scratch on his car. As his voice got louder and louder and his language got more and more abusive I found myself in a situation that I didn’t really know how to handle. What should I have done? I’m not the kind of person to turn a blind eye when someone needs help but I was alone in my house with my daughter and I needed to think about her and her protection. We hear so much in the media about good Samaritans that tackle irate people in the street to protect their property, families etc and it all to often ends in a tragic situation. My neighbour is quite a tough cookie and can look after herself but I felt it was getting out of hand and I could see she was starting to get upset. I thought the Police were probably needed so I went to grab the phone to call them. Just as I was about to call he headed off in his car with the threat of returning to see her husband later that night. I immediately ran round to check she was ok and encouraged her to speak to the police.

Anyway, did I do the right thing? Should I have gone out into the street during the argument and stuck by my neighbour? Why do people need to be so aggressive towards each other? This kind of situation raises a whole load of questions about the society we live in, and I can’t see it getting any better.

Bye for now
